The Butcher in Greve (don't look vegetarians!)

The Greve Butcher

Greve has a very renown butcher's shop - Macelleria Falorni. I remember coming here in 1997 when I traveled here on a walking tour (remember Jane!) and being impressed. And no less so now.
It is the oldest butchers in Italy - founded in 1729 and now run by the 8th generation.
If it's meat it's there. They make their own salamis etc from pork, beef and wild boars and have hams etc. hanging everywhere, as you can see. What a photographic opportunity. The staff seemed passionate about what they were doing and willingly answered our queries in English. We bought some lovely prosciutto and salami which we've been having with bread and cheese - and a glass of organic chianti so all's well!
